 Pastor's Corner
My dear brothers and sisters,
First, I would like to greet you all with the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May his graces
and blessings fill you life and bring you to full communion of love with him.
Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your financial support of our parish,
and in a
very special way for our last pledge drive for the Year 2012. Although we have
not yet
reached 100% of our parishioners, it is so good to see that we are--- making
an honest
effort to support our building fund.
Thank you very much for your active participation in the parish life, whether
it be for the
Dinner Dance, the Pledge drive, the Food drive, the Toy drive, the Emmaus Retreats,
the
Christmas Play, the Simbang Gabi or any other activities we have engaged in
recently
or that we are about to stage in our community. It is amazing such a spirit
of love,
generosity and brotherly love in the Lord. I am sure also that you have marked
on your
Calendar other exciting activities such as the Carnival, the parish Lenten mission
and
many more.
About our spiritual life, I would like to suggest the following theme: Called
to fellowship
with Jesus (1Co 1:9). This most beautiful expression of St. Paul in his letter
to the
Corinthians represents an amazing reality of our relationship with God, and
the passage
is part of the First Sunday of Advent readings, at the beginning of this Liturgical
year.
Called to Communion with God: This constitutes an essential part of the mystery
of the
Incarnation: Jesus comes to us so that we can enter into communion with God
our Father.
So in the year ahead, 2012, we will explore and deepen the meaning of that communion/
fellowship with Jesus our Savior, which also includes directly our prayer and
sacramental
life.
Since Christmas is around the corner, I invite everyone to prepare the
way of the Lord
by coming for the Parish Penance Service on this Monday, December 19th.
May God bless you abundantly,
Father Ernest
